Barack Obama and John McCain at MegaChurch Forum, Saddleback Church, Lake Forest, Calif This Summer

This is what is coming up. It is an important event that we need to watch. Saddleback Church forum which the presidential candidates are going to attend.

"The Rev. Rick Warren has persuaded the candidates to attend a forum at his Saddleback Church, in Lake Forest, Calif., on Aug. 16. In an interview, Mr. Warren said over the weekend that the presidential candidates would appear together for a moment but that he would interview them in succession at his megachurch."

So far, both candidates agree to meet at the church. More to come here.

The Politics of Fear: Pictures Speak Louder Than Words; The New Yorker Magazine Cover


What is being depicted in the magazine's cover? New Yorker's July Issue, "The Politics of Fear."

The burning flag, the nationalist-radical and islamic outifts, the fist-bump, the portrait of Bin Laden on the wall. All of them echo one attack or another.

The magazine said satire is part of what it does 'to hold a mirror to prejudice, the hateful, and the absurd. And that's the spirit of the cover." While Jay Leno, David Letterman, jon Steward of the Daily Show on the Comedy Central Conan O'Brien have been able to make fun of Senator John McCain's old age with all kinds of joke derivatives, not much has been said about Michelle and Obama. Satire may be the way to poke fun at them. The question is whether it is tasteful or tasteless.

B. Obama Receives the support of more superdelegates; Hillary Clinton sees the end of her campaign while Obama looks at November

Obama is closer to reaching his goals. He is scheduled to receive the democratic nomination. Hilary is about to give up after Tuesday's Virginia results. Superdelegates are making the difference in this year's elections. They are going to support Obama. More and more of them are going his way.

The Black Church Analysis: What Does Rev. Wright Mean?

What does the "Black Church" come to mean these days? Media personalities are not tired of trying to find out about what it means. More and more interviews are conducted with theologians and pastors to try to define it.

Black people created a religion that blends Christianity with others to form a new religion. The Black Church is the invisible church where enslaved Africans were not allowed to worship during the day. They ended up "stealing away tonight" so their masters would not find out what was going on. The official Black church started in Philadelphia. It started before the Civil Rights.

The Black church emerged as a religion of protest against white slave holders unwilling to let black people worship. The issues surrounding the movements of 1963 and on revolved around the idea that Black people want to affirm and assert themselves.

The Black Church affirms Black People's humanity. that is why most black people go to a church where they feel welcome.

Reverend Wright Explains Himself; He Answers Questions in Part 4







He said that a politician has to do what he has to do for electability reasons. That explains why Obama had to publicly distance himself from him. He said that his Q&A and speeches were mostly rants.
