President Elect Barack Obama's Inauguration Ceremony Details

We now know who is going to participate in Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony. Dr. Rick Warren, pastor of the influential Saddleback Church, will be one of the select participants. He is the author of the "Purpose-driven Life," a bestseller which has placed him in the conscience of most people, Christians and non-christians alike. World-known "queen of soul," Aretha Franklin will sing at the swearing in ceremony too.

Yale University African-American Poet, Elizabeth Alexander, will also read an inaugural poem, just like Maya Angelou did for Bill Clinton.

The question that many are asking is whether Rev. Rick Warren is poised to replace Rev. Billy Graham who is getting old and sickly. Each president chooses his own minister for faith matters. Rev. Wright caused too much trouble. I imagined he feels sorry for missing such a great opportunity. He could have been up there too!

"In honoring the civil rights movement, Mr. Obama has asked the Rev. Dr. Joseph E. Lowery, dean of the civil rights movement and co-founder with the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, to deliver the benediction."
